History

In 1946 a group of local businessmen founded Citizens Bank & Trust Co. to provide financial alternatives to the residents and businesses of St. Tammany Parish.  Its founders name their bank after the people they intended it to serve.  CBT opened its doors with 8 employees and currently have 45 employees.  The employees today still use the same standards that were set back in 1946, which is to have a friendly and personal connection with its customers.  In 1954, CBT was the fist bank in St. Tammany to have a drive-up window.  Today CBT is still considered a small community bank with 5 branches through out western St. Tammany that is able to provide the same advanced technology as some larger banks.  CBT takes great pride in helping the residents of St. Tammany with all of their financial and banking needs and being able to give back to the community.
